Many people ...don't know it but Julius Caesar had to become pope (admittedly self appointed) - Pontifex maximus - to obtain the necessary powers to alter the calendar.
Pope Gregory and the Jesuits, No NOT a rock band... realised someone may still work it out, as hiding the calendar by a clean 7 years wasn't obscure enough.
So they conceived a clever more devious plan and had another go at it... a better effort at being even more evil!
They removed 10 days. Exactly the number of days Gods 364 day calendar needs surplus every year to continue its unbreakable 3-year repeating pattern. A unit with 36months Solar and 37months lunar! GENIUS!!!
